RASATO TRAVERTINO offers the enchantment of travertino, thanks to its unique composition of high-quality lime putty, cooked in wood-fired ovens and subjected to long seasoning. This transpirant mineral coating also contains selected and balanced marble powder, additives of vegetal origin and organic additives less than 5% (dry residue – compliant with DIN 18363, 2.4.6), earth and inorganic oxides. The use of lime as a binder gives maximum transpirancy, promoting the natural diffusion of humidity through the plaster and masonry. Furthermore, the high basicity of the mineral component does not favor the formation and proliferation of mold and bacteria, unless external factors modify the pH. Thanks to the carbonation process, the plaster forms a solid and unalterable network over time.
RASATO TRAVERTINO, thanks to its high-quality materials, is highly resistant to light, non-flammable, non-toxic and non-polluting. It is important to underline that, due to its mineral composition, the product may suffer stains and discolorations in an uneven manner during application, due to different absorptions of the support, and over time, due to various environmental factors. These imperfections should not be considered defects of the product, but rather a characteristic of its naturalness. Furthermore, exposure to heavy and persistent rain in the first days following application, especially if the rain is acidic in nature, could cause the formation of a whitish surface patina due to a chemical reaction of the calcium hydroxide which has not yet carbonated. However, over time, this patina will tend to disappear with subsequent washes.
RASATO TRAVERTINO is particularly suitable for the conservative restoration of old historic buildings such as palaces, villas and churches, both outside and inside. Thanks to the different processing techniques, RASATO TRAVERTINO can be used to obtain a smooth and semi-opaque effect similar to marmorino, a fine plaster effect or more tactile effects such as Pitted and Dragged, as well as the effect of the natural stone of travertine. Furthermore, it can be further decorated by applying the finishes of the ITALIAN STYLE LINE, such as Riflessi di Luna, Art Metal, Antica Patinatura, Tendenze, Marmo di Venezia, and more.
